1. What is the Privacy Policy and What does it cover?

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and share user information, it also further clarifies how long the user information is stored and the safety of the information while transfer.
The Privacy Policy details user rights and how the user can exercise them.
This Privacy Policy is applicable to all our future products and links.
It shall also apply to any and all in-app purchases, subscriptions, accounts created with us across any and all of our future products.

At "HUGGED" we want the user to understand what information we collect and how it is further used, transferred, shared, managed, and stored. We urge and encourage all the users to read our Privacy Policy. It will help the users use our products and services in a more efficient way and allow us to make their experience more enriching and flawless.

Each section uses simple user-friendly language with examples to give more clarity about our practices to the user. We have also added resource links that would interest users about more privacy related topics.

It is important that the user know how to control their Privacy using our tools. Therefore, we also show where and how the user can manage their information in the settings of "HUGGED" and all its future products and services. We at "HUGGED" are a growing team of dedicated and passionate people who strive to serve the community better by providing resources to their questions related to pregnancy, postpartum, pre and post natal care, breastfeeding, ppd (post-partum depression), childcare and any/all the queries related to friendly, scientific, and expert backed solutions related to parenting. Here at "HUGGED" resources don't feel like technical guidance tools but more like practical solution to all your questions. We commit to providing complete satisfaction to our users and endeavour to provide a one-stop solution to all the small hurdles they might face while parenting their child.

3. What user information is collected?

In this part of the policy we enlist the types of user information that is collected. Following are a few of the important ones:

The information that the users input at the time of Sign-up and creating a profile i.e., Email address, Phone numbers, Passwords created, any and all identification details as required, age, gender, pincode information.
The activity that the users do on our app and its products and services such as, what they click on or save, like, share. The features that the users visit frequently, the messages they send. (The messages are end-to-end encrypted)
How the users staying in the same vicinity or general are of the pincode stay connected.
Information from the devices such as Phones, Computers, or Tablet/iPad that the users use to access any and all of our products and services. Namely, the type of the device and the version of the app they use.
Information from our integrated partners about websites the users visit, access, and use or other online activity related to what we provide.

The user information that is collected and processed depends completely on how the users use our products and services. Here's the information we collect:

User activity and information that is provided.

On our app the users can share live photos/videos/messages related to their parenting journey, book and buy free or paid subscriptions, webinars, access expert advices, access educational content related to pregnancy, postpartum, pre and post natal care, breastfeeding, ppd (post partum depression), childcare, and modern parenting. We can bring all of this under the term 'user activity'

Content that the users access, share, like, subscribe to, post in the form of articles, comments, audio/video messages, articles, links.
Content, the users provide through our in-app camera and voice-enabled features or their phone's camera-roll and microphone settings.
Messages the users send and receive, including their content and whether it is subject to the law applicable to the regions where the app is launched and used.
Metadata (Date, Time, Device identification such as IMEI numbers of Phones, IP Addresses and Location of the Devices used) about the content of the messages, subject to the applicable regional law.
User Interactions with the AI tools at "HUGGED" and metadata related to any such interactions. For example, inputs given to the AI tool, messages sent, questions asked, etc,.
Kind of content, including ads the users interact with and the way they interact with it.
Specific features or any other products and services of the "HUGGED" app, that the users use and actions are taken while using those.
In-app Purchases, Subscriptions, transactions made by the users through the app's checkout feature, including credit/debit card/UPI/Net-banking information.
The information regarding the time spent, frequency, and duration of the user activity on the app and its products.
The inputs given by the users when they contact us for account support.

Information that requires special protections

The users may choose to provide us with information about their religious views personal beliefs, health, racial or ethnic origins, customs and traditions, philosophical beliefs, mental health history. These, and any other types of information that could have special protections under the laws of the user jurisdiction.

Information related friends and connections the users shall make while using the app. This includes how the users interact with connections on the app. We collect the information such as names, email address, phone number, pincode information uploaded by the users.

App, browser and device information

Information related to the devices used by the users such as device software, and other device characteristics. What the users do while using the said devices, whether the app runs in foreground or background. Identifying devices, that is information that separates family devices apart from personal devices. Signals from the device. Information shared by the device through settings and permissions such as, GPS location, camera access, photos and related metadata. Information about the users' network, including IP address. Location-related information even if the location sharing setting is turned off. Information from cookies and similar technologies.

4. How is the information used?

The information collected from the users either by voluntary input from the users or what is collected while the users are connected in the app is used to improve the performance of the app and its products. It is also used to make suggestions to the users about services they may want or like to try. To promote new products and services of the app. To make users aware about certain malware, to notify the users about any updates and changes in the app and the software. To verify the compatibility of users' network and devices. To distinguish BOTS from real human users. The information is used to improve the users' overall experience.

We personalise each users' experience with us.
We share information related to communities the user might want to join.
We generate content that the user might be interested in consuming.
We include products by applying information about what the user uses them to do and what is happening on user device when the app crashes.
To send messages to the users about new services and products the users might want to avail.

5. How the user information is shared with other products and Integrated Partners?

Our Integrated Partners collect information from the users when they visit partner websites, apps or use the services that are provided. For example if you have created a profile with 'HUGGED' and the partner websites requires Sign-up/Log-in, the information such as email address will be shared with the partner website. If the user doesn't allow us to collect information the products and app services won't work well in the users favour.

In case certain information is termed as de-identified by the partner websites, we use the same information to re-identify the users.

The users choose to share information on our products with our integrated partners. The user may choose to share information only with other verified users they trust. The user may choose to subscribe to one of our integrated partners to avail to the services they provide.

5.1 What are integrated Partners?

An integrated partner is a person, business, organisation or body using our products and services to advertise, market and or support their products and services. Advertisers, Businesses and people who use our products to promote their services, Publishers and their vendors, App developers, Game developers, Device manufacturers, Internet Service Providers, Mobile Network Operators, E-commerce platforms.

5.2 What kind of information is collected or received from integrated partners?

Device Information
Cookie Data of the websites visited through social plugins.
Apps used
Games played
Purchases or transactions made using our products.
Demographics related to age, gender, education, etc.
The ads that the user sees and interactions made with them,
How the users avail other online products and services provided and endorsed by our integrated partners.
Partners also share information such as users email address, cookies and advertising the users device ID. This helps us match the information provided with the account if the user has one.
This information is received regardless the fact that the user has an account on our products.
Partners will also share their communications with the user.
In the event that the user doesn't have an account with us but they interact with our products we collect information such as browser and app logs of the user visits to public content such as videos, photos etc. Basic device related information, such as device model and OS.
We also receive information using cookies and similar technologies, such as Social plugins, when the user visits other website and apps that use our business tools or our other products.
This information is collected for security of the products and to monitor and prevent any attempts of attacks on our app, services and products, such as overloading our servers with traffic.
Also if we see any unwanted activity from a non-account holder to scrape our site in violation of our terms we can take immediate action to prevent it.
Action can be taken against any individual that does not have an account but tries to violate our Community Guidelines.
We can take the information collected and provide it to law enforcement in the event of genuine risk and imminent threat.
The information collected is also used for advertising and promotional purposes.
The information collected can also be used to improve our overall performance and enhance the users experience with us.
We receive information from other public platforms such as social media websites and public chat forums, Law enforcement and Government authorities.
Marketing and advertising vendors, NGOs, Academic and research institutions, Companies and/or organisations that provide content including videos, photos, audios etc.

6. What user information do we share with third parties?

We share the information that the users voluntarily choose to input while interacting with third party websites. Also, the information related to identification of the users when the users choose to log in through us. When the user chooses to fill a form or to contact us or any other service provider through us we use the device information such as IP address, payment information, email address, phone number, location information, metadata, etc. The user may choose to manage what information they share with us while creating a profile.

6.1 How do we share information with third parties?

We share certain information with:

Advertisers that choose to show ads related to the content we produce or compatible with the services we provide.
Businesses we choose to hire to market our products and services.
Businesses/ Organisations we hire to conduct surveys, offer customer service etc.
Researchers that help us innovate, advance technology and improve people's safety.
Legal Aid providers and law enforcement agencies to improve security and safety measures.

7. How can the user manage or delete or remove their information and exercise their rights?

We offer a variety of tools to the users to view, manage, download and delete their information they may have added to our app while logging in and using the services of the app.

The user can also manage their information by visiting the settings and profile tab of the products they use. The user has other privacy rights under laws applicable to region.

The user can use the tools offered by us to find and delete content that they may have posted on the app. When the user chooses to send the information to our trash can by choosing the delete button the content/information is no longer available to other users.

If the user chooses to permanently delete their account we delete all the information including any photo, video, and audio content the user has posted while using the app. Once an account gets deleted no one can retrieve any information from the deleted account.

It may take up to 90 days from receiving the request of deletion by standard protocol to delete the user information completely from the platform. After the information is deleted it takes the system about another 90 days to remove it from backup storage or disaster recovery.

*NOTE: If the user is in any way a criminal and or a person who has a history of offences with the law enforcement department we have full right to retrieve and handover the information to related law enforcement agencies for further prosecution.*

7.1 What are user rights?

The user has rights to choose the information they input in the system while they log in and create their profile.
The user can choose what information they want to make available to other users.
The user may use the Privacy settings and manage sharing their phone number, pincode information, photos, videos, location details with other users.
The users have right to access legal aid and reach out to customer support in event of any illegal activity or harm/threat is posed to them.
The user in event to theft of their device or hacking of their system should inform the customer support immediately so the customer support can take necessary actions to protect their information by suspending or hiding it.

8. How long the user information does get stored in the system?

The user information is stored for as long as we need it to provide our services. The user can request to delete any and all their information stored in our system. The information will be deleted unless we are required to save it for legal reasons.

When we need to abide by the legal terms of the applicable law we retain the information for as long as we are required to. A governmental investigation or legal claim or a complaint, litigation or regulation proceeding may motivate us to retain all the user information that is saved in our system.

This is not only mandatory but also a statutory right we exercise while serving the community better. A request to delete any user account may be denied and the user may be suspended from manually deleting or removing information to comply with any and all laws that are applicable to the region. We may retain and preserve user information to protect ourselves, including our rights and our Intellectual Property.

9. How do we respond to legal requests and comply with the existing law applicable and prevent harm?

While responding to legal requests we may have to provide certain user information. If there is a law that makes it mandatory for us hold and preserve user information we have to comply with it to safeguard our and other users' privacy and safety.
We store and preserve information if it is required to prevent any illegal activity either on our app or products and services provided by third parties or our integrated partners.
At times we are not compelled by law but the information we hold may affect other users in the jurisdiction of the region, and sometimes it is consistent with standards and regulations that have global recognition.
We may use the information to help investigate unauthorised activity across our products, third party websites, and services provided by our integrated partners to protect our rights, property, other users, and our personnel.
The information may be preserved to prevent fraud, abuse, or other harmful activity on and off our platform and other products.

10. How will the user know about the changes and/or updates in the Policy?

We will notify our users before making any material changes to this Policy. The users will be provided with an opportunity to review the revised terms and conditions of the Policy before they choose to continue with the usage of our platform and or products.

12. Why and how does the user information get processed?

The user information associated with their activities stored in our system gets automatically processed to assess and understand their preferences and interests to personalise and enhance their experience while using our services and products.
This may include information related to the Devices used, search engines, websites, etc, visited by the users. It may also include users personal information, information related to location etc.
When the users choose to add our account to other community based social media apps and platforms, the information is processed to facilitate the sharing and consumption of content.
The user information is processed to contact the customer through various modes for example; messages, emails, in-product notifications, etc, and it is also used to respond to the user when the user contacts us.
The information is processed any issue regarding the app or any other technical issue the user may face while using the app.
Processing information that is subject to special laws of the country or any information that the user chooses to input related to the users' sexual orientation, political views, health, racial, or ethnic origin, philosophical beliefs or trade union membership, or as a part of surveys that the users may choose to participate in where the user has given their explicit consent.
The user information received from third parties to personalise ads that the user sees, to promote products and services that may benefit the user, to suggest communities or forums the user may want to join and be a part of.
The user information may be processed to make suggestions related to health and mental well-being of family members or the users themselves.
When there is a legal obligation binding us to preserve or share certain user information that may prove to be vital to any investigation undertaken by law enforcement agencies.
